The Chelsea fans in are expecting another win against Swansea City on Wednesday. The Blues have been on a great run of form over the last few weeks, whilst Swansea have been struggling. Unfortunately, though, Antonio Conte has delivered some very concerning news ahead of the game. He has revealed, via the official Chelsea Twitter, that David Luiz and Charly Musonda are out of the game, whilst the duo of Michy Batshuayi and Kenedy are also likely to be unavailable as they continue their recovery.

This is concerning for Antonio Conte as it gives him a bit of a selection headache as he looks to build a strong squad. Nobody that is unavailable would be expected to start the game, but they would all likely be on the bench if fit, and that’s certainly problematic. Conte, then, may have to rely on other, less experienced players, which is far from an ideal situation in such an important game.
That being said, the injury to David Luiz is likely to mean that Andreas Christensen starts yet another game for the Blues, which is something that the fans should actually be delighted about.
Our Verdict
Chelsea have been quite unfortunate with injury problems so far this season, with the likes of Alvaro Morata and N’Golo Kante both missing games at important times.
They were able to negotiate around those absences, though, and so Antonio Conte should be able to do the same again without too many problems. This is a concerning situation, though, given how many big games are coming up.
