The Montreal Impact striker said he was still in discussions with the Major League Soccer outfit, who he joined last year. “Lovely to receive these messages but I have not yet announced my retirement & am still in discussion with @impactmontreal about my future,” Drogba wrote on Twitter.

Abuja -Star Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang rejected English Premier League overtures as he celebrated winning the African player of the year award. The Gabonese, who is the leading Bundesliga scorer this season, was reduced to tears after stopping Yaya Toure getting a fifth straight title on Thursday night. “I am staying at Dortmund,” the 26-year-old Aubameyang, who has been linked with an $85 million move to Arsenal, Manchester United and Liverpool, said after accepting the prize at a gala in Abuja. “I am so happy. I am not someone who usually cries but it is quite an emotional moment. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang “When you are standing alongside players like Yaya Toure or Andre Ayew there is pride in winning such a trophy ahead of them because they are great players and I obviously admire them a lot.”

Managing success with grace. Last year, I was approached by a young man who was looking for a job. When I checked out his CV and references and heard his intelligent answers to the difficult questions I asked him, I concluded that he had a good character and sophisticated brain…and would be very useful to anyone who hired him. So I contacted a VIP friend – who was always telling anyone who would listen that he didn’t have enough competent staff – and told him that I’d come across a young man who was definitely talented. Strangely, given his constant complaints about the “inadequate” human resources he had at his disposal, my friend reacted very unenthusiastically. But I managed to persuade him to meet the young man. When the youngster went to the VIP’s Abuja office on the agreed date, he waited all day but didn’t see the Oga, even though he was in. The secretary told him to return the next day. But the same thing happened the next day. And the day after.
