‘Get him out of the club’, ‘Awful signing’ … Chelsea fans slam star after Qarabag win

Chelsea cruised to a comfortable 4-0 win away at 10-man Qarabag on Wednesday night to secure their spot in the knockout stages of the Champions League, but Blues fans were left unimpressed with Davide Zappacosta’s performance.

With Victor Moses still on the sidelines because of injury, the summer addition once again lined up at right wing-back for Antonio Conte’s side but he struggled with certain aspects of his game in Azerbaijan.

The 25-year-old made a couple of errors from a defensive point of view, while his crossing – particularly when he had a golden chance to set up Alvaro Morata late on – was often poor.

Chelsea supporters were quick to have their say on his performance via social media, and while one simply labelled him “an awful signing”, another said he ‘should take his place in the stand for the rest of the season as that is where he belongs’.
