IPOB fires back at Mbaka, says Biafra more than money. The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has reacted to a recent comment credited to Enugu-based fire-brand catholic priest, Rev Father Ejike Mbaka, where he called on the pro-Biafran youths protesting for the immediate release of Radio Biafra Director and Leader of IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu, to go back to their businesses as the protests could lead to their death. Mbaka During a sermon at his weekly Adoration Ministry, Mbaka was said to had criticised Biafra supporters who embarked on the massive protests across South-East and South-South states, to demand Kanu’s immediate release.
Man Utd give Van Gaal respite in Chelsea draw Manchester United bought beleaguered manager Louis van Gaal some much-needed respite with an improved display in Monday’s 0-0 draw at home to under-performing Premier League champions Chelsea. Van Gaal has admitted that he is contemplating leaving Old Trafford after a wretched slump in form, but although his team have now gone eight games without victory in all competitions, they avoided sinking to five straight defeat for the first time since December 1936. In a performance that will give United’s board reason to hope the Dutchman may yet steer the club out of their dip, the home side played with greater enterprise than of late and hit the woodwork through Juan Mata and Anthony Martial.

Messi beats Ronaldo to Globe soccer awards At the Globe Soccer Awards in Dubai Monday, Barcelona star Lionel Messi took home the award for best player of 2015, beating out Cristiano Ronaldo and others. “[I’m] obviously very happy but all these awards are for the whole club,” Messi said, according to Gulf News. Messi had a magical 2015, leading Barcelona to five trophies, including the Club World Cup last Sunday. Barca also won the team of the year award. On the national level, Messi led Argentina to the Copa America final, where it lost to host Chile in the summer.

Nigeria needs God’s intervention to overcome current challenges – Gbenga Daniel Former Governor of Ogun State, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, has urged Nigerians to pray for God’s intervention for the country to overcome current challenges confronting the country. Gbenga-Daniel Daniel made the call at the yearly Christmas Concert of the choir and orchestra of Apostolic Faith Church, West and Central District (WECA) at the church headquarters Campground Road, Anthony Village Lagos with the theme: “Joy To The World.”

Can Buhari make Naira equal to Dollar? on December 28, 2015 In March 2015, the News Agency of Nigeria(NAN) published a report, which was also syndicated in several Newspapers, that the All Progressives Congress Presidential candidate, Gen. Muhammed Buhari had promised “to ensure that the Naira was equal to the dollar in value, if voted into office”. Buhari made this statement during the South East Presidential campaign rally of his party at the Dan Anyiam stadium in Owerri on Monday, 23rd March 2015. The APC candidate apparently lamented that “it is sad that the value of the Naira has dropped to more than N230 to $1” and he therefore cautioned that “this does not speak well for the Nation’s economy”.
